Compton Place and Virginia Manor

The Compton Place Apartments and Virginia Manor Apartments are both located in the Carondelet neighborhood. The two 12-unit properties were developed in the mid-1990s by two non-profits, Intercommunity Housing Association and Carondelet Community Betterment Federation, respectively. By 2010 both groups wished to divest themselves of the properties. Aware of DeSales’ reputation as a good owner and manager of affordable housing, they approached DCD as a potential buyer. By the end of the year both transactions were completed and DeSales continues to own and manage the properties. Virginia Manor was extensively renovated in 2015 as part of a larger project named DeSales Impact.
