3867 Lafayette
As part of its work for the Garden District Commission, DeSales led the effort in 2013 to acquire a vacant 12-unit apartment building at the corner of Lafayette and 39th St. in the Tiffany neighborhood. The building, which was then owned by a bank in Texas, had a long and notorious history as a problem property. DeSales put forth a plan to demolish half of the building to create space for off-street parking and to rehab the remaining half for 6 market-rate apartments. DeSales and the GDC secured city approval for the partial demolition and recruited a private developer to take on the rehab. The project was completed in 2015.
